UWE Men's Rugby Coach (backs/attack and development)

Details
Working hours: 7 hours per week (3 weekday PM sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays). Additional training at UWE Hillside Gardens and match days – BUCS home games at Lockleaze and away games.
Responsibilities
- Deliver on‑pitch sessions with the Head Coach, including pre‑season, trials, training, BUCS fixtures and friendlies.
- Develop and deliver sessions tailored to participants, focusing on attacking play and backs or rugby development provision.
- Maintain records of participants’ progress.
- Support the student Club Committee in running the club effectively.
- Collaborate with the UWE Men's Rugby Coaching Team to deliver an effective programme.
- Actively recruit players.
- Engage with coach education opportunities at UWE, if desired.
- Attend the Coaches Induction at the start of the year (or watch the recording), read the Coaches Handbook and familiarize yourself with UWE policies and procedures, including finance timescales for invoicing.
- Provide like‑for‑like replacement if unable to attend a session.
Essential Requirements
- Hold UKCC Level 2 Rugby Coaching certificate or equivalent; UKCC Level 1 considered depending on role.
- Have experience coaching sport sessions for rugby.
- Have £10m Public Liability and £5m Professional Indemnity Insurance (waiver available for lower amounts in some cases).
Selection Process
The selection will include a panel interview and a practical demonstration of coaching with players from the club.
