What Are BTP Cadets?
- We’re a national youth programme for young people who want to:
- Get involved in real community projects
- Learn about policing in a safe, supported environment
- Develop teamwork, leadership, and life skills
- Make friends and have fun doing something that matters
You don’t need any experience. You don’t need to want a career in policing. You just need enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to try something new.
What You’ll Get Out of It
- Learn Skills You’ll Actually Use - From communication and first aid to problem‑solving and teamwork — every session helps build your confidence.
- Make a Difference Locally - You’ll help with community events, local projects, safety initiatives, and support the people who live and work around you.
- Try Experiences You Can’t Get Anywhere Else - Visits to specialist police units, team‑building challenges, parades, volunteering events, and more. Yes — you’ll get your own cadet uniform, too.
