Our program is about having fun, while teaching water safety and survival to all ages. British Swim School was founded in 1981 and is the premium water safety and learn‑to‑swim program in Canada. We are looking for an outstanding individual to teach life‑saving and stroke development skills in a fun and gentle environment.

The Ideal Candidate

  • You are a fun, outgoing, personable individual who loves working with all ages, including babies as young as three months old.
  • We offer a year‑round program where students attend weekly lessons with little downtime.
  • We are looking for someone willing to work in a smaller, boutique swim school and can adapt to the changing needs of the business.
  • To be a successful candidate, you will need to show that you are reliable, punctual, focused, nurturing, and energetic, as well as having a clear sense of fun!

Requirements

  • Strong swimming skills with the ability to demonstrate all 4 strokes is required.
  • Previous experience working with children is an asset.
  • Bronze Cross or Current National Lifeguard Certification is an asset.

This is a permanent part‑time position. We are seeking applicants willing to work a flexible schedule (evenings and weekends), with a year‑round commitment to the position. Compensation: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour.

Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. It’s helpful if you have experience with children or in a child‑focused job, but it’s not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.

We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team, even if you’re not in the pool. These are the people committed to providing the best service in the industry. In these roles, you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool. Wherever you are, the aim is to make everyone feel like part of the British Swim School Family as we focus on ensuring the “Survival of the Littlest.”
