To continue our successful talent development programmes, we are looking for a highly motivated Electrical Engineer seeking to develop their career into becoming a site based Subject Matter Expert.

As an electrical engineer, you will be given the opportunity to work on our electrical systems from 33kV & 11kV distribution, generation, motor control centres, variable speed drives through to the latest industrial control and communication systems. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects and further develop your engineering skills whilst building a strong foundation for your future career with us.
You will role model and support the site teams, through leading the enhancement of safety, reliability and production performance. You will have experience of plant electrical equipment and practical experience of a large-scale manufacturing, oil & gas, generation, chemical or process plant.
Core Accountabilities:- Support and deputies for the site subject matter expert (SME) for all electrical engineering activities to enhance safety, reliability and production throughput in line with site and business objectives.
- Lead cross site initiatives to improve safety and reliability of the plant.
- Support the implementation of British Sugar Electrical and Instrumentation code of practices and procedures.
- Gain an understanding of the hazardous areas in the sugar industry and associated control measures.
- Lead by example by role-modelling the British Sugar Values and behaviours.
- Contribute to the 5 year plan for management of electrical and instrumentation assets.
- HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of the British Standards for Engineering Plant, Equipment and Practices.
- Authorised/capability to become authorised to become an Electrical Senior Authorised Level to operate and issue electrical safety certificates for 11kV systems.
- A detailed understanding of industrial electrical and control plant, including Generation, Distribution, Motor Control Centres, Variable Speed Drives, instrumentation, and an appreciation of Distributed Control Systems, PLCs.
- Recognised Safety qualification eg NEBOSH safety Certificate or equivalent.
