Around 3,500 farmers based in East Anglia and the East Midlands supply our four advanced manufacturing sites with eight million tonnes of sugar beet every year. In this apprenticeship you will follow a Food and Drink Technical Operator pathway, learning how to finish our sugar products and packaging the sugar, as well as despatching to customer. This includes learning how to safely maintain our sugar packaging lines and warehouse equipment, to manufacture effectively and efficiently, store and despatch sugar products which meet all quality standards and customer expectations.
In addition to learning you will also be working on a variety of bulk conveying and out loading systems, packaging machines, palletising robots, pallet conveyors, and despatch plant. You will carry out engineering activities including routine maintenance, fault finding and diagnosis, testing, and commissioning.
A 30-month programme, following the Food and Drink Technical Operator Standard, achieving a Level 3 Food and Drink Technical Operator qualification and all the practical experience alongside to be ready to move into Customer Supply Process Operator role.
During your scheme you will be working from our Wissington factory site, 5-days a week, on an 8-hour rotating shift pattern. This variable shift pattern will include some weekends and bank holidays. This apprenticeship will be a mix of on the job and distance learning.

- Understand the systems and procedures to work safely and efficiently.

What will you need?
- You will need a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Level 5/C or above which must include Maths, English and a Science.
- Candidates must be 18 at the point of starting the apprenticeship.
- Candidates must be able to travel to the workplace and to attend College.
