Around 3,500 farmers based in East Anglia and the East Midlands supply our four advanced manufacturing sites with eight million tonnes of sugar beet every year. - Working Pattern: 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4pm
The position is TEMPORARY, employment will run from October 2026 to February 2027 (to be confirmed).

Main Scope of Role
Sampling process streams across a large manufacturing site, carrying out both routine and ad-hoc analysis to support process development and optimisation.
Key Areas
Candidates will be expected to perform the following:
- Safe collection of manufacturing samples from the factory.
- Updating of laboratory sample inventory.
- Carry out specific sample preparation and analysis methods according to instruction in a safe manner.
- Accurate and organised recording of results.
- Flagging and discussion of issues and observations.
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work environment to ensure smooth running.
- Engage and cooperate with other team members to deliver on a dynamic work schedule.
- Travel with team members to other British Sugar sites
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
- Good communication and timekeeping skills
- Ability to carry out simple mathematical calculations.
- Strong safety awareness
- Basic IT knowledge
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Desirable
Previous experience working in the laboratory environment.
