Pattern of Work – 12 hours 4 on 4 off days
We’re looking for a reliable, practical and safety-minded Tyre Fitter to join the Heavy Plant team. The role focuses on fitting, inspecting and maintaining tyres across large earth-moving equipment (loading shovels, dumpers, telehandlers, forklifts). Due to the specialist nature of heavy plant tyres, we’re open to taking on an experienced HGV tyre fitter and providing full training to transition into heavy plant work.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, remove, refit tyres on heavy plant equipment.
- Carry out regular tyre pressure checks and condition reports.
- Safely operate heavy tyre-handling tools and equipment.
- Support the workshop with identifying worn tyres, planning replacements and maintaining stock levels.
- Respond to breakdowns on site and carry out tyre changes safely and efficiently.
- Follow all site safety rules, risk assessments and lock-off/permit systems.
- Work closely with fitters, planners and supervisors to minimise downtime.
What we need to know about you
Experience fitting tyres on heavy plant or earth-moving machinery. Also considered: Experienced HGV tyre fitters with strong technical skills who are willing to be trained in heavy plant tyre work.

Training & Development
For HGV tyre fitters joining the team, we will provide:
- Full training on heavy plant tyre systems, including OTR (off-the-road) tyres.
- Safe handling and inflation procedures for large-diameter tyres.
- Familiarisation with site layouts, plant types and operational requirements.
