We're seeking an experienced PMO Manager to establish and lead our Project Management Office.

What you need to know about the role

This is a rare opportunity to build a PMO from the ground up, impacting, project delivery, and organisational change across a complex industrial business.

  • Establish and lead the British Steel PMO function.
  • Develop project, programme and portfolio governance frameworks.
  • Oversee project performance, risks, costs, benefits, and dependencies.
  • Support strategic investment and prioritisation decisions.
  • Drive project management best practice and continuous improvement.
  • Influence stakeholders and provide insight to senior leadership.
  • What we need to know about you
  • Experience delivering large-scale transformation, operational improvement or capital investment programmes.
  • Strong PMO, portfolio management or programme experience.
  • Expertise in governance, financial controls and benefits realisation.
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ, PMP or equivalent project management qualification.
  • Strong understanding of PMO best practice and portfolio management methodologies.
