Rossdales Laboratories is seeking to appoint an additional pathologist to strengthen our diagnostic team and support our ongoing growth. A specialist equine diagnostic laboratory, we service the needs of our world-renowned equine practice, and also provide a referral laboratory service to a large number of equine practices throughout the UK and worldwide.
The laboratory provides a wide range of services, including all aspects of equine clinical pathology, microbiology and anatomic pathology. The position provides the opportunity to work within the heart of one of the largest and busiest equine practices in Europe, alongside leading clinicians in the equine field. There has been recent major investment in our laboratory facilities and this is a unique opportunity to develop expertise in equine diagnostic pathology.
Duties predominantly will involve reporting routine equine histopathology, cytology and post-mortem examinations. The successful candidate will be encouraged to perform lecturing and collaborative research, both within the practice and more widely. Excellent interpersonal skills and client communication are critical.
Full-time applicants are preferred and on-site working is a pre-requisite, although there may be scope for some remote/flexible working hours. For a suitable candidate, a part-time role may be considered. In either case, there will be a requirement to provide some weekend cover on a rota.
Successful applicants will hold a veterinary degree and MRCVS status (or be eligible to become MRCVS), and will hold FRCPath or DipACVP/ECVP, or be close to completing these qualifications.
