Primary Job Purpose
Identify, acquire, develop, and manage a portfolio of identified Strategic Accounts going to market with a clear strategic and consultative approach. Identify the long-term Safety, Health, Wellbeing and Sustainability needs of customers and recommend our products and services to multiple organisations within the UK ensuring the achievement of individual and team sales targets and KPI’s. Focusing on Audit & Consultancy, larger training opportunities, and other relevant product areas. Be the commercial champion within a product vertical. Provide support including Product coaching; Competitor insight; Technical support to team members. Take the lead to ensure that products and services purchased are delivered exceeding client expectations in conjunction with the operations and delivery team(s) as well as other relevant internal and external stakeholders. Refer the sales of selected products to the appropriate team or website where required.
Brief Description of Tasks
- Grow the customer base & maximise revenue by acquiring, managing, and growing accounts via the development and execution of a clear strategic sales plan and utilisation of standard and bespoke solutions where required from sales to account management.
- Utilise multiple communications methodologies (Phone, MS Teams, Face-to-Face, E-Mail) to ensure that strong relationships are created and maintained.
- Create proposals and bids based on customer need.
- Manage and complete tender processes from initial bid through to contract management.
- Collaborate with the Product Team(s) and contribute to horizon scans, product development, and continual improvement.
- Be the ‘go-to’ person in the commercial team for your respective product area, and support in associated sales coaching and product knowledge development.
- Facilitate networking between the BSC Policy team and industry contacts.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop bespoke products utilising an in-depth understanding of a client’s needs.
- Work collaboratively with the Customer Advisor team to ensure overall group revenue is maximised, referring opportunities and leads as appropriate.
- Keep up to date with all products and services offered by British Safety Council, Being Well Together, Mates in Mind as well as partners & competitors.
- Maintain a broad and deep understanding of the Health & Safety, Mental Health & Wellbeing, Sustainability and related industries.
- Follow up on leads generated by British Safety Council sales initiatives & marketing campaigns within designated timeframes.
- Maintain accurate customer records using the CRM system (Salesforce).
- Ensure that profit margins are maintained in the delivery of all transactions and manage own costs and expenses within allocated budgets.
- Represent British Safety Council at internal and external events, seminars and conferences where required.
- Adhere to all administration procedures within the expected timeframes.
- To undertake any other activities or tasks that are consistent with the role and/or reasonably required by the UK Sales Manager or Head of Sales.
