University of Chester Rowing Club – Rowing Coach

The University of Chester seeks a part-time coach to work with their rowing club, rowing out of Grosvenor Rowing Club on the River Dee, Chester.

Sport and Active Lifestyle oversees 35+ student-led sports clubs at the University of Chester, supporting a vibrant and inclusive sporting community.

As part of our growing coaching team, we’re excited to recruit a Rowing Coach to support our well-established and ambitious Rowing Club.

In 2024–25, the club welcomed over 50 members, competing at numerous North West regattas, the prestigious Head of the River Race in London, and the BUCS Regatta in Nottingham.

We’re looking for a motivated and passionate coach who is committed to enhancing the student experience through sport. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with university athletes and make a meaningful impact on both participation and performance. Whether you’re newly qualified or looking to build your coaching experience, this is a fantastic opportunity to work with university students and make a real impact on both participation and competitive sport.

As a sports coach, you’ll support enthusiastic players of all abilities and help shape the future of sport at Chester. Clubs train twice a week, and we ask that coaches commit to attending at least one session weekly. Final training days and times will be confirmed shortly.

Requirements:

  • Minimum qualification: Club Coach (Level 1).
  • Availability to coach at least one session per week.
  • Training times to be agreed with the club in the coming weeks.
