The Glasgow Academy (TGA) is seeking to appoint an inspirational Head of Rowing, to lead, coach and develop our successful rowing programme from August 2024.
The Glasgow Academy Rowing Club is in its 15th year and during that time we have produced three World Champions and numerous internationalists. The program is highly regarded throughout the country, regularly wins national titles, and competes on the highest stages, including the Schools’ Head of the River, National Schools’ Regatta, Henley Royal Regatta and Women’s Henley Regatta. As well as this, we have pupils aiming for junior international representation.
You will be required to plan and coach at all levels, playing a vital role in the delivery of the program objectives. You will be responsible for creating a program to achieve success at all local, domestic, and national levels, working across an exceptional team of coaching and teaching staff to ensure that input, involvement and engagement is of the utmost importance across all year groups.
You will exhibit a proven coaching record and will be capable of delivering high quality coaching to pupils of all abilities. Ideally, you will have performed or coached to a high standard and will possess a British Rowing Coaching Award Level 2/3. Additionally, you will demonstrate an ability to motivate both staff and pupils, utilising an outstanding set of communication and organisational skills to help drive our rowing club forward to new levels of performance and participation.
