The 1863 Club is seeking to recruit an additional part-time coach to assist our existing team throughout the week and weekends. The role is to help with the coaching of our growing junior club across all squads.
Over the last few years, the club has developed into a progressive programme catering to an inclusive yet competitive ethos supporting and giving opportunities for boys between J14-J18 and girls from J17-J18. We are based in Chiswick, London. Most of the squads race at regattas both locally and nationally.
We are seeking a coach to help develop juniors alongside cohesively working with our existing team under the direction of our Head of Rowing and Co-Captains. There is flexibility with exact hours depending on the candidate, but the role could potentially be for 2-3 sessions a week working with other coaches or up to 20 hours a week playing a more prominent role in a squad and the rowers’ development.
We encourage candidates who have experience working with junior age rowers or a graduate that may be looking for their first steps into coaching. A British Rowing Level 2 coaching award and RYA Powerboat 2 are desirable, but we will consider those without if they work to complete them over the course of the next few months. We may support candidates without these qualifications depending on the person.
