Rowing Coach – St Edward’s School, Oxford

St Edward’s Oxford are looking for an experienced and well-qualified Rowing Coach to play a key role within their thriving boat club.

St Edward’s School has a long-established national reputation for rowing, and is thriving Boat Club: approximately 100 boys and 50 girls row and scull from J14 upwards. Pupils in School crews compete at numerous heads and regattas throughout the year, including the Schools’ Head and National Schools Regatta.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will deliver first-rate rowing coaching to students from across all year groups, helping our students to develop their skills and proficiency in the sport.
  • You will deliver your coaching during scheduled sessions on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday (additional days may be available).

Skills & Experience

  • You will be a well-organised, inspiring and enthusiastic individual.
  • You hold a British Rowing coaching qualification and registration, as well as a Level 2 Rowing Coach qualification or a willingness to acquire this as soon as possible.
  • The holding of a full clean UK driving licence, preferably with the ability to drive a minibus and/or boat trailers is essential.
  • Previous experience of both sculling and sweeping oared boats is also essential.

The number of working hours will vary and will be agreed between you and the Head of Rowing. You may be asked to work additional hours at external events, such as regattas.

St Edward’s School reserve the right to conduct interviews and appoint for the role before the advertised closing date should a suitable candidate be found. Therefore, early applications are encouraged.
