Head Coach – Performance & Development Squads – Agecroft RC
This Head Coach role is an exciting opportunity to develop the Agecroft Performance & Development rowing programme, delivering high-quality coaching, overseeing all aspects of the training programme, and inspiring all athletes in the group.
Agecroft Rowing Club, based in Salford Quays, Manchester, is one of the leading provincial clubs in the country with an excellent boathouse, fleet of boats and gym facility. The club has a long track record of success on the water including recent Jackson Trophy wins at HoRR, National Championship medals, and semi-final crews at HWR in club events
Agecroft is home to thriving junior, development, performance, and masters squads and is the training base for Salford University Boat Club. We are a partner club for All Aboard Youth Rowing, and both a BR Performance Development Academy as well as a new Talent Inclusion Academy. Alongside a busy programme of competitions, community initiatives and coaching, we continue to invest in facilities, people and partnerships that strengthen rowing across the North West
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the club’s adult rowing programme
- Work with the club’s leadership team to manage the club timetable, and develop the club fleet
- Attend rowing events across the year, regionally and nationally
- Develop a sustainable Learn To Row programme that helps strengthen our position in the community and build our development squads
- To visibly support the club’s mission, vision and values.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience that has delivered athlete progression at a club, school or university level
- Demonstratable organisation and planning capability
- Have, or be working toward, BR level 2 coach or above, RYA Powerboat 2.
- Have a full driving licence with towing experience.
- Have completed Safeguarding training and hold a current DBS/CRC certificate.
Salary: £30,000 to £38,000 subject to experience
Type: Full time (average of 36 hours/week over the year) including evenings and weekends
