The Communications and Marketing Executive will play a key role in creating and managing editorial content across the British Rowing website and wider channels. They will support organisational objectives by telling compelling stories from across the rowing community, connecting with existing audiences while reaching new ones. The role will also involve maintaining the British Rowing website, ensuring content is accurate, up to date, and easy to navigate. A proactive mindset is essential, with a constant focus on identifying new ways to improve storytelling and showcase the rowing community as British Rowing builds towards the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2028 and beyond.
This position offers the opportunity to work across both British Rowing and the Great Britain Rowing Team, supporting elite athletes with Olympic and Paralympic ambitions while also championing the grassroots of the sport. You will help bring to life the stories, personalities, and achievements that define rowing at every level. Based at Headquarters in Hammersmith, the role will also include some time at the National Training Centre in Caversham, along with travel to British Rowing events throughout the season to support and deliver the communications strategy.
Essential
- 1-2 years experience in a communications, marketing, PR, or content-focused role, with proven ability to create engaging written and digital content across social, editorial, and traditional media channels.
- A creative mindset with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong attention to detail, and the ability to develop compelling articles, and audience-focused content.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively across teams and stakeholders.
- A sound understanding of content creation across a range of social media platforms, including: Facebook, X, Instagram, and TikTok.
Desirable
- Degree in journalism, marketing, communications, or a related discipline, alongside an understanding of digital platforms, audience engagement, and the wider media landscape.
- Experience using key creative and marketing tools including Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress, Canva and DotDigital.
- Experience in video creation/editing, social media management, email marketing, and copywriting across a range of content formats.
- Experience in executing marketing campaigns across a diverse range of digital and traditional platforms.
Working Arrangements: Full-Time, 35 Hours per week.
