Kingston Grammar School – J16 and Senior Girls’ Rowing Coach
Kingston Grammar School is seeking to appoint a talented, driven, and passionate senior girls’ coach to join their successful rowing department during an exciting period of expansion.
This role is vital to the school\’s ambition to inspire, mentor, and develop the next generation of rowers, aiming to re-establish KGS as one of the leading rowing schools in the UK.
Under the guidance of our new Director of Rowing, James Cracknell, the school continues to build on its reputation for developing top talent. Alumni include World and Olympic Champions, U19 and U23 World Champions, and winners at Henley Royal Regatta and the Boat Race, many of whom have received rowing scholarships to US universities.
The J16 Girls’ Lead Coach will work closely with the Director of Rowing to set strategic goals and develop a high-performance training program. This includes innovative sports science applications, strength and conditioning, and fostering an environment where girls thrive, grow, and enjoy racing for the school.
We seek an experienced coach with excellent technical, physiological, and crew-building skills, who is enthusiastic, approachable, confident, and aligned with the school’s rowing vision.
This full-time role is offered on an initial one-year fixed-term contract, averaging 40 hours per week, including holidays for trips, camps, GB trials, and regattas, which may involve weekends. Candidates must be willing and able to drive a minibus.

KGS is a co-educational school located in a vibrant riverside town with excellent transport links. The school has its own boathouse at Thames Ditton on a prime stretch of the Thames, with upcoming upgrades including six new shells. Facilities include Concept 2 ergometers, BikeErgs, RP3s, a gymnasium, weights room, and outdoor training spaces.
