The 1863 Club are seeking to recruit a Senior coach to join as a key member of the team from September

We are seeking a coach to help develop juniors alongside cohesively working with our existing team under the direction of our Head of Rowing and Captain. There is some flexibility with exact hours depending on the candidate, but this role would cover coaching and working across most sessions in the week (mostly before and after school) as well as on the weekend. This is approximately 15-18 hours a week. The role would also cover working all competitions in the events calendar, which are mostly weekends. The senior coach would be expected to lead one of the year group squads.

We encourage candidates who have experience working with junior age rowers or an experienced graduate that may be looking for their first steps into coaching. Hence a British Rowing Level 2 coaching award and RYA Powerboat 2 are desirable but those without we will consider if they work to complete over the course of the next few months. We may support candidates without these qualifications depending on the person.

The role is offered as a one year annual contract, remunerated as a set monthly wage, with scope to continue thereafter the first year. Pay dependent on experience.

The club is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all coaches and staff to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to this post including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service. Applicants must have the existing right to work in the UK.

The role is to help with the coaching of our growing junior club across all squads covering sessions during the weekdays as well as on the weekend (mostly Sundays). Over the last few years, the club has developed into a progressive programme catering to an inclusive yet competitive ethos supporting and giving opportunities for boys between J14-J18 and girls from J17-J18. We are based in Chiswick, London.
