Stewardship and Communications Manager – British Red Cross
We’re looking for a talented Stewardship and Communications Manager to join our Philanthropy and Partnerships team at the British Red Cross. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how we engage, thank, and inspire our valued supporters through innovative stewardship strategies and compelling communications.
Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)
Responsibilities
- Develop and project manage bespoke stewardship materials for high‑value supporters – philanthropists, trusts, foundations, corporate and institutional partners.
- Lead stewardship communications, including emergency appeals, collaborating with teams and stakeholders, securing approvals, capturing impact and shaping future emergency stewardship communication.
- Develop and embed innovative stewardship tools and processes to empower fundraisers to deliver outstanding stewardship.
- Build the stewardship programme with new ways to engage donors such as user‑generated film, immersive in‑person experiences, digital updates and recognition projects.
- Build stewardship and communication expertise across all high‑value fundraising teams, advising on supporter journeys and facilitating knowledge sharing.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of stewardship activities, using insights to continuously improve.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in donor stewardship, communications or relationship management, ideally within a fundraising environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
- Strong project management skills, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience developing measurement tools and using insights to drive improvement, including CRM systems for accurate data management and effective stewardship.
- A creative mindset with an eye for detail and a passion for delivering exceptional supporter experiences.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
