Senior Casework Manager
Location: Shrewsbury (Hybrid between home and in the community)
Salary Β£36,153 to Β£37,609 per annum
Hours: 35 per week
Contract: Permanent

We need you to join our High Intensity Use (HIU) Programme, an innovative initiative supporting individuals who frequently rely on urgent and emergency care. Many of the people we work with face complex challenges, including substance misuse, mental health struggles, and social isolation . This service is about changing lives, changing perceptions, and breaking barriers to recovery.

What does a day in the life of a Senior Casework Manager look like?

  • Based in the community, you will work with a rolling caseload. You will help to identify and address unmet social needs that may be worsening physical and/or mental health. As well as supervising your team, you will hold your own caseload. You\’ll drive outcomes for service-users and the system while ensuring quality interventions.
  • Supporting people who may have complex presentations, mental health, multiple long-term conditions, adverse traumatic experiences.
  • Improving individuals\’ self-management techniques, focussing on strength-based interventions, leading to improved wellbeing and confidence. You will carefully monitor care co-ordination, advocating for access and addressing health inequalities. You will need to know how the system works and how to gain access for people who are falling through the gaps.

To be a successful Senior Casework Manager, what do you need?

  • Qualification to degree level (or equivalent by experience).
  • Casework experience delivering community based services within areas of alcohol and substance misuse and mental and physical health conditions. Experience developing person centred support plans, engaging in a trauma informed way and managing risk dynamically.
  • Experience in m anagement of staff, volunteers, services and projects, responding to and prioritising competing demands.
  • Experience in health, social care, or a voluntary organisation, delivering quality services while driving improvements.
  • Being authentic with an exceptionally strong ability to connect as people you will help are often suspicious of formality and offers of support. Resilience and motivation, demonstrating compassion, strong negotiation skills and patience.

Candidates will ideally live around the Shropshire area as the role requires knowledge on local services.
