You'll provide vital transport and emotional support to vulnerable individuals, helping them access medical care, regain independence, and feel cared for.
What will a day in the life of a Health Transport Support Worker involve?
- Supporting people to and from hospitals, care homes, and their own homes.
- Working as part of a team responsible for providing discharged patient transport in a safe, comfortable, and sympathetic manner.
- Driving and assisting patients with different requirements based on their mobility classification.
- Carrying out risk assessments and using mobility aids to ensure safe transport.
- Offering emotional support and signposting to other services like shopping help or social groups.
- Keeping accurate records and reporting any changes in wellbeing or incidents.
To be a successful Health Transport Support Worker, what will you need?
- Great people skills and the ability to communicate clearly and kindly.
- A full UK driving licence which allows you to operate a manual transmission vehicle.
- Confidence using Microsoft 365 and managing your own time.
- Experience supporting individuals with physical or mental health needs.
- A flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends.
