What will a day in the life of a Health Transport Support Worker involve?

  • Supporting people to and from hospitals, care homes, and their own homes.
  • Working as part of a team responsible for providing discharged patient transport in a safe, comfortable, and sympathetic manner.
  • Driving and assisting patients with different requirements based on their mobility classification.
  • Carrying out risk assessments and using mobility aids to ensure safe transport.
  • Offering emotional support and signposting to other services like shopping help or social groups.
  • Keeping accurate records and reporting any changes in wellbeing or incidents.

To be a successful Health Transport Support Worker, what will you need?

  • Great people skills and the ability to communicate clearly and kindly.
  • A full UK driving licence which allows you to operate a manual transmission vehicle.
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365 and managing your own time.
  • Experience supporting individuals with physical or mental health needs.
  • A flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends.
