We are looking for a strategic leader to champion the partnership between the British Red Cross (BRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). This is your opportunity to engage high-value supporters and unlock funding that changes lives.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the UK implementation of ICRC's Private Sector Engagement Strategy.
  • Cultivate relationships with philanthropists, corporates, and foundations.
  • Design and deliver joint campaigns and events for high-value audiences.
  • Inspire giving from ultra/high-net-worth individuals.

Private Sector Engagement

  • Deliver ICRC's UK Private Sector Strategy with BRC.
  • Build relationships with high-value donors and partners.
  • Create joint proposals, campaigns, and events.
  • Identify new donor opportunities and drive tailored engagement.
  • Inspire giving from ultra/high-net-worth individuals.
  • Map UK-linked ICRC donors to boost BRC income.

Data & Reporting

  • Support annual plans, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and ensure compliance.
  • Track performance and provide actionable insights.
  • Organise strategic meetings to align both organisations.

Relationships

  • Externally: Engage donors, intermediaries, and key networks.
  • Internally: Collaborate across ICRC and BRC teams. Participate actively in cross-team meetings.

What does it take to be a successful Philanthropy and Fundraising lead?

  • Significant UK philanthropy/partnerships fundraising experience with a track record of meeting growth targets.
  • Proven ability to secure £1M+ gifts from corporates, individuals, and foundations.
  • Strong relationship management skills, internally and externally.
  • Ability to quickly interpret and manage complex written and financial information.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Proficient in fundraising databases and MS 365.
  • Experience engaging senior volunteers (e.g., Development Boards) to support philanthropy.
  • Skilled in creating compelling, high-quality funding propositions.
