A day in the life:

I sit inside a newly created integrated marketing and fundraising directorate, where the vision is to develop bold, audience‐focused engagement activities that span the full portfolio of British Red Cross products – from fundraising to social enterprise, volunteering and operations. • Audience Strategy: Advance the strategic direction and implementation of audience planning across core digital products and segments, ensuring a consistently insight‐led approach across campaigns.
  • Partner with Market Research & Voice of Supporter teams: Build nuanced understanding of audience motivations, interests and barriers; generate qualitative and quantitative research and insight; translate findings into actionable creative direction for agencies and internal teams.
  • Digital Creatives: Direct the development of new digital creative territories for multiple products and segments, including the scoping, research and onboarding of creative agencies.
  • Capability mapping and skills development: Assess digital capability across teams and lead a structured upskilling programme, with clear frameworks and monitoring to build organisation‐wide digital literacy.
  • Digital Strategy & Horizon Scanning: Support our digital engagement strategy with robust business cases, KPI planning, innovation and horizon scanning; concurrently ensure compliant and responsible use of digital data.

To be successful:

  • A track record of delivering digital marketing/fundraising projects and public‐facing campaigns focused on online income generation.
  • Broad understanding of the digital marketing ecosystem and ability to develop strategies for public engagement campaigns.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Experience in strategy development, project management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience in upskilling or training colleagues in digital marketing.
  • Knowledge of audience insight, testing and segmentation methodologies and techniques.

Closing date for completed applications: 23:59 on Thursday 22nd January 2026.
