Are you a digital strategist ready to champion an ambitious digital engagement strategy and drive growth? The Senior Digital Engagement Planning & Strategy Manager role is ideal for someone with strong experience in digital marketing and a proven record of planning and managing large, complex digital annual plans.
A day in the life:
I sit inside a newly created integrated marketing and fundraising directorate, where the vision is to develop bold, audienceāfocused engagement activities that span the full portfolio of British Red Cross products ā from fundraising to social enterprise, volunteering and operations. I work closely with other teams across the Directorate to align our digital ecosystem, lead the implementation of our audience strategy, and develop digital creative territories for multiple products and audiences. I also oversee a digital marketing upskilling program to raise digital literacy across the Directorate.
Key responsibilities:
- Cross Organisational Collaboration: Collaborate across teams to plan and coordinate an ambitious, audienceāled digital campaigns annual plan, maximizing income and engagement opportunities across paid, earned and owned digital channels.
- Digital Campaigns Plan & Strategy: Lead the development of holistic digital campaigns engagement plans and postācampaign analysis, aligning insights, teams and KPIs to maximise engagement and income across the full digital funnel.
- Audience Strategy: Advance the strategic direction and implementation of audience planning across core digital products and segments, ensuring a consistently insightāled approach across campaigns.
- Partner with Market Research & Voice of Supporter teams: Build nuanced understanding of audience motivations, interests and barriers; generate qualitative and quantitative research and insight; translate findings into actionable creative direction for agencies and internal teams.
- Digital Creatives: Direct the development of new digital creative territories for multiple products and segments, including the scoping, research and onboarding of creative agencies.
- Capability mapping and skills development: Assess digital capability across teams and lead a structured upskilling programme, with clear frameworks and monitoring to build organisationāwide digital literacy.
- Digital Strategy & Horizon Scanning: Support our digital engagement strategy with robust business cases, KPI planning, innovation and horizon scanning; concurrently ensure compliant and responsible use of digital data.
To be successful:
- A track record of delivering digital marketing/fundraising projects and publicāfacing campaigns focused on online income generation.
- Broad understanding of the digital marketing ecosystem and ability to develop strategies for public engagement campaigns.
- Collaborative mindset with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Experience in strategy development, project management and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in upskilling or training colleagues in digital marketing.
- Knowledge of audience insight, testing and segmentation methodologies and techniques.
