Do you have the confidence and experience to lead impactful group support from day one, creating safe spaces for connection and recovery? As a Project Officer, you will play a hands-on role in delivering vital psychosocial and group-based support for Gazan men and families settling in the UK. From the outset, you will bring the confidence and experience to design and deliver groupwork in partnership with clinical practitioners, while building strong relationships with local authorities and community partners. The role centres on creating safe, culturally sensitive spaces that support wellbeing, rights and social connection, alongside coordinating volunteers and strengthening service delivery. This is an opportunity to step into a fast-paced environment, take ownership early, and make a tangible impact through high-quality, trauma-informed support.
What will a day in the life of a Project Officer involve?
- Leading engaging group sessions that support wellbeing, connection and resilience from the outset.
- Working closely with partners to deliver groupwork and community programmes that meet emerging needs.
- Supporting individuals to understand their rights, entitlements and local services.
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders and representing the service externally.
- Coordinating and supporting volunteers to deliver safe, effective support.
- Keeping accurate records and using data to improve services and outcomes.
To be a successful Project Officer, what will you need?
- Strong knowledge of the needs and challenges faced by refugee and migrant communities, particularly men who have experienced trauma.
- Understanding of safeguarding, with the confidence to respond to concerns appropriately.
- Experience delivering groupwork and supporting people with complex needs from early on in a role.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with partners, stakeholders and communities.
- Confident communication skills across a wide range of cultures and backgrounds.
- Strong organisation skills, with the ability to manage priorities and work at pace.
- Experience coordinating projects and supporting or leading volunteers.
- A proactive, self-starting approach with the ability to quickly take ownership and drive delivery.
- Arabic language skills would be advantageous.
