As a Senior Insight Officer, you’ll lead the creation and delivery of high-quality insight and analysis that informs strategic decisions across the British Red Cross. Working closely with teams across the organisation, you’ll manage projects from start to finish, ensuring insights are clear, actionable, and timely. You’ll design and produce engaging insight products, conduct qualitative research, and provide expert advice to senior leaders. This role calls for someone who can balance multiple priorities, communicate complex ideas simply, and champion best practice in evidence-based decision-making. Your work will help shape services and strategies that support people who are vulnerable to crisis in the UK and internationally.

What will a day in the life of a Senior Insight Officer involve?

  • Leading and managing insight projects from start to finish, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Designing and producing insight products that communicate key ideas clearly and visually.
  • Analysing and interpreting data to deliver actionable findings for decision-makers.
  • Responding quickly to requests for insight on emerging issues and complex situations.
  • Working with colleagues across the organisation to turn evidence into practical solutions.
  • Conducting interviews and qualitative research to gather expert perspectives.

To be a successful Senior Insight Officer, what will you need?

  • Strong knowledge of research methods, including literature reviews and expert interviews.
  • Advanced IT skills, with the ability to create visually engaging outputs using tools like Canva.
  • Excellent project management skills to balance multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to synthesise information rapidly from diverse sources.
  • Proven skill in delivering clear, concise analysis that informs action in complex situations.
