We’re looking for someone who can help ensure they feel valued, recognised, and supported throughout their volunteering journey.
As a Volunteer Experience Support, you will play a key part in enhancing the overall volunteer experience across the organisation. You’ll provide flexible support to our Volunteering Team, helping to deliver recognition activities, awards, celebration events, and initiatives that embed great volunteer practice across the British Red Cross.
A day in the life of Volunteer Experience Support will include:
- Awards, Recognition & Event Support
- Assist with our staff and volunteer awards programmes, including maintaining records and preparing certificates and materials.
- Support the planning and delivery of celebration events, helping with logistics and administration.
- Gather stories and case studies to showcase award recipients and promote recognition across the organisation.
- Volunteer Experience & Practice
- Provide admin support for projects that improve volunteer experiences and promote best practice in volunteer management.
- Assist with collecting and analysing data to help shape engagement activities.
- Help create communications and resources for volunteer managers.
- General Support
- Respond to enquiries promptly and professionally, signposting where needed.
- Work flexibly to support team priorities and occasional events outside normal office hours.
It’s a varied role ideal for someone who is organised, creative, good with people, and comfortable working across different teams.
What you will bring
Essential Knowledge & Skills
- Great organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Clear, engaging written and verbal communication.
- Ability to build positive working relationships.
- Confidence using MS Office and digital tools.
- Understanding of volunteer engagement and the importance of recognition.
- Practical problem-solving and basic design skills (e.g., simple posters, PowerPoints).
Essential Experience
- Providing admin or coordination support in a busy team (including virtual working).
- Supporting event planning and logistics.
- Managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Working with diverse stakeholders across teams.
- Collecting and handling data for reporting.
