Overview

Business Support Manager — Location: UK Flexible (Hybrid). Salary: £31,770 per annum (plus ILW, if residing & working in London). Hours: 35 per week. Contract: Fixed term contract (9-month maternity cover, with potential 3-month extension).

As Business Support Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our Community Education workshops run smoothly and meet the needs of those we serve. You’ll lead a small team and work closely with volunteers, internal departments, and external partners to deliver high-quality customer service. You’ll analyse feedback and improve booking processes, manage relationships, and report on performance. Your work will help shape a positive experience for every participant. You’ll be the central point of contact for enquiries, championing continuous improvement and ensuring our services reflect the values of the British Red Cross. This is a dynamic and inclusive role where collaboration, insight, and leadership come together to make a real difference.

What will a day in the life of a Business Support Manager involve?

  • Investigating and resolving complex customer issues with empathy and efficiency.
  • Analysing feedback and data to improve service delivery across the team.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to enhance the customer journey.
  • Leading the development and implementation of national business processes.
  • Reporting on key performance indicators with accuracy and insight.

To be a successful Business Support Manager, what will you need?

  • Proven experience managing and motivating teams, including volunteers.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to implement quality systems.
  • Ability to develop and improve national business processes.
  • Experience in analysing data and producing clear, actionable reports.
  • Strong IT skills with a proven record of utilising Microsoft Teams and MS Bookings.
  • A track record of building effective internal and external relationships.
  • Confidence in leading change and promoting inclusive, values-driven leadership.
