Following a challenging period for the organisation, BPAS has launched a renewed strategy and established a new Executive Leadership Team, placing people and patients at the heart of everything we do. BPAS’ vision is for a society in which women are trusted to make their own reproductive choices, with access to the information and services needed to exercise those choices.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Chief People Officer will lead the people, culture and organisational development agenda across BPAS. You will play a central role in shaping organisational culture, strengthening leadership capability, supporting workforce sustainability and helping guide BPAS through a significant period of organisational transformation and change.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and delivery of a modern People and Organisational Development strategy aligned to BPAS’ mission and values.
  • Shape and support organisational transformation, workforce planning and leadership development across a national healthcare charity.
  • Provide executive leadership for organisational culture, employee engagement, equality, diversity and inclusion, and workforce wellbeing.
  • Use workforce insight, data and organisational metrics to support decision‑making, governance and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Executive colleagues, Trustees and senior leaders to strengthen organisational performance, capability and resilience.
  • Lead and develop a high‑performing People function that delivers responsive, effective and values‑led people services.
Qualifications

We are looking for a credible, resilient and values‑driven executive leader with significant senior leadership experience within complex organisations, ideally within a charity or regulated environment. You will bring experience of leading organisational change, developing high‑performing teams and balancing strategic workforce priorities with operational delivery and financial sustainability.
