As a HCA, you will be required to assist with the care, support and observations of the client before & after treatment, and report findings to the Registered Practitioners. You will help check and prepare the operating department environment and equipment prior to use, between clients and at the end of a list.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the care, support and observations of the client before and after treatment, reporting findings to the Registered Practitioners.
  • Assist in the preparation and serving of refreshments.
  • Help check and prepare the operating department environment and equipment prior to use, between clients and at the end of a list.
  • Undertake counts of swabs, instruments and needles in conjunction with another trained member of the surgical team, and assist the surgical team during surgical procedures.
  • Maintain an understanding of clients' individual needs and a helpful, courteous approach to clients, visitors and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should be comfortable with terminations of pregnancy and seeing this procedure in theatre.
  • Care certificate in healthcare / NVQ Level 3 in health and social care / Diploma in health and support level 3.
  • Positive attitude to change.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • IT skills.
