BPAS are looking for a Treatment Doctor to perform terminations of pregnancy in our Middlesbrough Clinic. This role would be on a Thursday.

As a treatment doctor you will provide safe, effective and comprehensive surgical and medical terminations of pregnancy to BPAS clients.

This role is working at BPAS Middlesbrough, with the option to provide services in other areas nationally if you are able. You will be operating up to 17+6 under conscious sedation, and have the opportunity to train to 24 weeks gestation.

With a Bachelor of Medicine or equivalent and full General Medical Council registration plus a license to practice,you will be passionate and committed to reproductive healthcare. You will ensure that all BPAS clients are treated in a professional and caring way and have unwavering support for a woman’s right to choose abortion.

A good communicator you enjoy building strong working relationships across the business and enjoy maintaining such relationships as well.

We are also looking for:

  • Experience of independent practice for any abortion procedures/gestationsrelevant to the post, or willingness to be trained in-house.

  • Knowledge of termination of pregnancy procedures and the assessment and management of complications

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to be pro-active and flexible

  • Experience of IUD/Implant insertion along with knowledge of sexual health issues

  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload whilst maintaining strict confidentiality

  • Willing to travel to other locations within the region and/or work flexibly.
