We are the leading specialist provider of abortion advice and treatment in the UK, supporting over 100,000 women each year across more than 50 clinics nationwide. BPAS is committed to protecting, defending, and advancing abortion rights across the UK.

Together our advocacy and campaigns team have delivered generational change in abortion law and access including the decriminalisation of women, the introduction of safe access zones, and changing the law to allow telemedical abortion care. We are looking for a Policy and Public Affairs Executive to join our Advocacy team and help protect, defend and advance reproductive rights across the UK. This role forms part of renewed investment in our advocacy function, offering the opportunity to shape BPAS's public affairs work at a pivotal time for reproductive health and rights.

Working closely with the Policy and Engagement Manager and wider advocacy team, you'll support the development of BPAS's policy positions, build relationships with parliamentarians and key stakeholders, and contribute to our work across Westminster, Holyrood and Cardiff. From preparing policy briefings and monitoring political developments to coordinating stakeholder engagement and supporting parliamentary activity, you'll play an important role in helping shape the future of reproductive healthcare across the UK. This is a hybrid role with regular travel to Central London, including Westminster and Parliament, for meetings and events.

Main duties of the job:

• Support the development of BPAS's policy positions, produce evidence-based briefings and high-quality consultation responses.
• Assist with parliamentary engagement and public affairs work across the UK.
• Plan and coordinate stakeholder engagement, including MP meetings, visits and events with external partners.
• Monitor and analyse political and policy developments and produce regular briefings and updates.
• Maintain policy resources and stakeholder databases to support effective advocacy and relationship management.
• Represent BPAS at external meetings where appropriate and identify opportunities to influence policy and strengthen strategic partnerships.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Advocacy, Campaigns and Communications teams to support organisational priorities and improve access to reproductive healthcare for women across the UK.

About You:

You'll be educated to degree level (or equivalent) with relevant experience in policy, public affairs, campaigning or stakeholder engagement. You'll have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while building effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Ideally, you'll have experience working in or around Parliament, with elected officials or within the health, women's or human rights sectors. You'll have a good understanding of the UK political landscape, the policy-making process and how campaigning, advocacy and communications work together to influence change. You’ll be enthusiastic, organised and able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team. Location: Hybrid - Home working with regular travel for meetings to Central London including Parliament

Salary: £35,437- £38,019 per annum depending on skills and experience. This salary is inclusive of Inner London Weighting.

Hours: 36 hours per week | Monday to Thursday 09:00-17:00 and Friday 09:00-15:30
