Please note this role is on a 12 month fixed term contract covering maternity leave. Are you a Registered Adult Nurse or Midwife who is passionate about reproductive healthcare? We are looking for a Nurse or Midwife Practitioner to join the clinical team in our Finsbury Park unit - working 16 hours per week on a Monday and Thursday.

As a Nurse or Midwife Practitioner you will provide high quality clinical care to our clients across a range of BPAS reproductive healthcare services including termination of pregnancy, STI testing and treatment, contraception, and vasectomy. You will be involved in all stages of the client pathway from consultation through to treatment and will work in all areas of the unit including theatre and recovery. This role will involve providing treatment and clinical information to clients both in person and over the phone. You'll have excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills, and be adept at caring for clients in a compassionate and empathetic way. Due to this role's contract duration, we require the successful candidate to be scan trained.

Main duties of the job:

  • You'll work in accordance with NMC guidelines for Professional Practice and the wider regulatory frameworks of the Abortion Act 1967 and Health & Social Care Act as well as BPAS clinical policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the client understands her options in relation to the pregnancy, and if choosing termination, meets the grounds of the Abortion Act.
  • Provide information on STI Testing, undertake tests and provide results, and also discuss the client's future choice of contraception.
  • Carefully check for and implement any procedure indicated on client case notes, including administering medication for Medical Abortion procedures.
