Responsibilities

  • To assist with the care, support and observations of the client before and after treatment, and report findings to the Registered Practitioners.
  • To assist in the preparation and serving of refreshments.
  • Help check and prepare the operating department environment and equipment prior to use, between clients and at the end of a list.
  • Undertake counts of swabs, instruments and needles in conjunction with another trained member of the surgical team, and assist the surgical team during surgical procedures.
  • You will assist the clinical team to maintain and improve high standards of client care within the operating department and recovery areas of the unit; you will also carry out assigned tasks unsupervised in support of a registered practitioner and care for our clients.
  • You will have experience working in healthcare, especially in a hospital, GP practice or operating theatre setting; with a positive can-do attitude you will enjoy working as part of a team and be passionate about helping and caring for others.

Qualifications

  • Candidates will need to be comfortable with terminations of pregnancy and seeing this procedure in theatre.
  • Care certificate in healthcare / NVQ Level 3 in health and social care / Diploma in health and support level 3

At BPAS, we have an exciting part-time opportunity for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our unit in Chester working every Tuesday, 08:30 to 17:00.
