Looking for an experienced Admin Assistant to join Birmingham South unit on a casual basis, covering periods of annual leave and sickness. Flexible hours and pensionable income.
About You
You have proven experience working within an office environment, with administration duties, excellent communication skills, and a friendly positive attitude.
Main duties of the job
- Answer and direct telephone queries, liaising with internal and external colleagues.
- Accurately check or complete BPAS and legal paperwork, ensuring all relevant documentation is available for the client episode of care.
- Monitor, edit and amend appointment list, using BPAS booking system, informing clients if changes to their appointment become necessary.
- Assist in monitoring, controlling and ordering stock, sort and distribute incoming mail, prepare and dispatch statistical information and reports.
Additional Experience Required
- Experience dealing face to face with patients who may be upset within a care environment.
- Knowledge of clerical procedures including checking documentation, telephone and reception duties.
- Good attention to detail, supportive towards colleagues and clients, effective team player.

Job details
- Salary: £13.08 – £14.73 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
- Shift pattern: Ad‑hoc – as and when required to cover periods of annual leave and sickness in line with business needs. Monday to Friday.
- Location: BPAS Birmingham South – The Robert Clinic, 162 Station Road, Kings Norton, Birmingham B30 1DB.
Qualifications
- English and Maths qualification either GCSE A to C or Functional Skills Level 2 or GCSE 4* or NVQ level 2.
- Competent in Microsoft Office programmes including Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
Experience
- Administration experience within an office environment.
- Experience with clerical procedures including checking of documentation.
- Telephone and reception procedures experience.
- Experience dealing face to face with patients who may be angry or upset within a care environment.
