Role overview
Please note, this role is on a 12 month fixed term contract. Do you enjoy working within a busy office or reception environment, where no two days are the same? We are looking for an experienced Admin Assistant to join our unit in Birmingham Central for 30 hours per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. You'll work as part of the team in carrying out administration tasks in an efficient and friendly manner ensuring that clients feel accepted, supported, and confident about BPAS services.
Responsibilities
- Answer and direct telephone queries, liaising with internal and external colleagues.
- Accurately check or complete BPAS and legal paperwork, ensuring all relevant documentation is available for the client’s episode of care.
- Monitor, edit and amend appointment list using the BPAS booking system, informing clients of any changes to their appointments.
- Assist in monitoring, controlling and ordering stock, sorting and distributing incoming mail, and preparing and dispatching statistical information and reports.
Qualifications
- Proven experience of working within an office environment, carrying out administration duties.
- Excellent communicator both internally and externally with a friendly and positive attitude when interacting with clients, colleagues and external parties.
- Experience of face‑to‑face interaction with patients who may be upset within a care environment.
- Knowledge of clerical procedures including checking documentation, telephone and reception duties.
- Good attention to detail, supportive towards colleagues and clients, and an effective team player.
