As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across electrical engineering scopes within BPA’s pipeline, terminal, and storage infrastructure. You will play a key role in defining, reviewing and delivering electrical solutions for both projects and operating assets, with a strong focus on brownfield environments, where operational constraints, safety, and system reliability are critical. Working closely with project managers and multidisciplinary teams, you will support delivery from early concept through to commissioning, ensuring electrical designs are safe, compliant, and practical to implement within live operating sites.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Electrical Engineering & Technical Assurance

    • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, hazardous area requirements, and BPA procedures
    • Provide technical assurance and input into design reviews across the project lifecycle
  • Project Delivery & Operational Support
    • Support the delivery of electrical elements of projects from concept through to commissioning and handover
    • Contribute to shutdown planning, energisation activities, and integration with live systems
    • Work closely with asset teams to support fault finding, reliability improvement, and obsolescence management
    • Assess and manage constraints associated with live operational sites, including outages, tie‑ins, and temporary supplies
    • Ensure solutions are practical, safe, and maintainable within high‑hazard environments
    • Act as the electrical focal point within multidisciplinary teams
    • Review contractor and vendor designs, ensuring quality and compliance
    • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers where required
    • Build effective relationships with stakeholders across engineering, operations, and delivery teams

What You’ll Need

  • Strong experience delivering electrical engineering solutions in high-hazard environments (e.g. oil & gas, terminals, pipelines, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of LV systems, MCCs, motors, VSDs, transformers, and hazardous area installations
  • Experience reviewing contractor and vendor design deliverables
  • Strong technical judgement and ability to manage engineering risk
  • Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) with a recognised professional body (e.g. IET)
  • Experience working in brownfield environments
  • Familiarity with HV/LV authorisation systems

Basic salary of £50,000 – £60,000 depending on experience.
