British Medical Experts (BME) is expanding its panel of trusted experts to meet growing demand from law firms and insurers across the UK. We are currently inviting Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeons to join our respected expert witness community.
This is a flexible, remote opportunity to supplement your income, build medico-legal expertise, and contribute to the justice system using your clinical skills. With regular casework and sufficient availability, experts can earn up to £100,000 per year.
We offer structured training and certification, in partnership with Bond Solon and the Expert Witness Institute, helping you build or expand your portfolio with confidence.
As a panel member, you'll provide independent expert opinion on clinical matters for legal proceedings. Work includes:
- Reviewing pain management records and clinical data
- Writing clear, impartial medico-legal reports
- Advising on condition, causation, prognosis, and standards of care
- Complying with Civil Procedure Rules (CPR)
- Attending case conferences or court hearings (when required)
Who Should Apply?
We’re especially keen to hear from:
- GMC-registered Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeons with an interest in medico-legal work
- Those with 0–10 reports of prior experience seeking expert guidance and growth
- Clinicians with 3–5 hours/month to spare and capacity to begin within 3 months
- Doctors aiming to diversify their career or reduce reliance on NHS income
