Boatbuilder / Maintenance Engineer

Job Type

  • Full time
  • Payrange: between Β£26’500-35’000 per annum dependant on experience
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00am- 5pm
  • Overtime

x 1.5 of hourly pay rate.

Benefits: 28 days holiday, 10 of these days are to be kept for two week closure over the Christmas period, power tools & work wear, plus more.

Overtime available over the busy season.

A busy Scottish based Leisure Marine Engineering Company has an immediate requirement for a Technician/ Boat builder / maintenance engineer or Bosun with a wide knowledge on all aspects of leisure boating maintenance and repairs.

As a Technician Boatbuilder you will be responsible for modification and repair/maintenance on all boat types.

As the work varies, it would be beneficial to your role if you possess skills in paintwork repairs and refurbishing.

Coppercoating applications, vessel strip downs and fit outs.

A multi-skilled attitude and approach is desirable.

  • Typical tasks include
  • Minor Polyester and resin repairs
  • Minor Gel repairs and colour match and refurbishing
  • Bow and stern thruster tubes install / repairs
  • Winch servicing and repairs.
  • Light rigging works
  • Rudder bearings and helm system repairs / servicing
  • Painting would be advantages.
  • Polishing
  • Teak deck cleaning and treatment
  • It is essential you have relevant City and Guilds or NVQ level 3 qualifications, time served apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with Marine leisure craft from around 15’-65’
  • Keen to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Seeking candidate that will strive for excellence at all times
  • An ability to work on your own or as part of a team with an understanding of working to deadlines is essential
