Overview Join to apply for the Information Security Apprentice role at British Land .JOB TITLE: INFORMATION SECURITY APPRENTICEDEPARTMENT: TECHNOLOGYLOCATION: York HouseREPORTING TO: Head of Information SecurityTYPE OF CONTRACT: FTC 21 monthsThe Role The Information Security Team is part of Group Technology and is responsible for the development, management and maintenance of the information & technology security governance, strategy, policies, systems and processes across the British Land group.The Information Security Apprentice will be primarily working on Cyber Security tasks which help protect British Land by assisting with the implementation, maintenance and monitoring of Cyber tools to prevent, detect and manage cyber threats. The apprentice will work as part of the Information Security team and, whilst focusing on Cyber, will also work on other Governance-based tasks that the team perform to gain exposure to a wide variety of responsibilities of the team. The role will also work closely with other Group Technology teams, such as Infrastructure, Service Desk and Systems Development.The apprentice will study towards the Level 4 Cyber Security Defend & Respond programme.Apprenticeship Overview – L4 CST – Defend and Respond Expected duration: 2 yearsApprenticeship level: higher (level 4)Programme: L4 cyber security technologistDuring this apprenticeship, you will follow a fully supported training programme with the apprentice and training partnership, delivered through combined classroom-based training, workplace assessment/training and online learning.The training covers the following core occupational duties:What You\’ll Do Assisting with the support and implementation of technologies in the following categoriesCreate cyber security metrics for reporting packsMonitor for attacks, intrusions and unusual activity, using a range of cyber toolsAssist with planning for Penetration Tests and tracking results and resolution of vulnerabilitiesInvestigate security alerts and provide incident responseManage privileged access reportingAssist in tabletop incident response exercisesMonitor identity and access managementLiaise with stakeholders in relation to cyber security issuesGenerate reports for both technical and non-technical staff and stakeholdersAssist with the creation, maintenance and delivery of cyber security awareness trainingGive advice and guidance to staff on issues such as spam and unwanted or malicious emailsAbout You Strong written and oral communication skills and a team playerYou will have a strong interest in Information Security and IT in general and will be able to demonstrate that you have undertaken projects at home in or in an educational setting that exemplify this.Self-motivated problem solverGood time managementEligibility GCSEs at grades 9–4 (A*–C) or equivalent in English and MathsGood knowledge of IT systems, network infrastructure, and hardware/software systemsAn active interest in Cyber Security is encouragedExisting right to work in the UKOur Shared Values Our values are what we stand for at British Land, they\’re not just a label on the door; they connect us every day to our vision, purpose, and strategy.
