The role sits within the wider Governance function alongside the Data Privacy and Secretariat and reports to the Director of Governance. The wider team is a crucial part of the business and works with all business areas. The role will involve undertaking customer and transaction risk assessments to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering regulations and legislation. The role will also be involved in the wider areas of compliance, including Anti-Fraud and Anti-Bribery & Corruption.

What You’ll Do:

  • Third party screening including sanctions, PEP status and adverse media – monitoring screening reports and investigating discrepancies.
  • Performing customer due diligence.
  • Carrying out customer risk assessments.
  • Carrying out transaction risk assessments.

About You:

  • Experience of working in compliance in a large organisation and creating a culture of best practice adherence to anti-financial crime legislation.
  • Experience of undertaking customer and transaction risk assessments in relation to anti-money laundering compliance.
  • Experience of carrying out customer due diligence.
  • A good understanding of the legal and regulatory rules concerning anti-financial crime compliance and how they apply to an organisation such as British Land.
  • A proven ability to assess complex scenarios to give high-quality advice and identify pragmatic solutions.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to present complex information with attention to detail.
  • The ability to use own initiative and manage multiple tasks with minimum supervision.
  • The ability to work to deadlines and deliver at pace.
  • The ability to quickly establish personal credibility and develop and maintain effective relationships, including working with areas of the business unfamiliar with anti-financial crime compliance processes.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • The ability to deal appropriately with confidential information.
  • Good experience of using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
