The Role

We seek a motivated, technical, and numerate individual to join our Financial Reporting team, focusing on joint venture results and consolidation within the wider group. This financial accountant role involves collaboration with the Financial Reporting Management, commercial teams, and external stakeholders, contributing to business analysis, decision-making, and relationship management.

What You’ll Do

You will develop professionally through exposure to various aspects of group finance and participate in in-house learning sessions to gain broader insights into the business:

  • Reporting: Manage daily finance matters and reporting for the joint venture
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as a primary contact for internal and external partners regarding financial issues
  • Management Information: Prepare quarterly board packs for presentation and discussion
  • Performance Analysis: Compare actual performance against budgets and forecasts
  • Cash Management: Monitor cash balances, funding needs, and prepare quarterly cash flow statements
  • Accounting Memos: Draft technical memos supporting transaction accounting treatments
  • Funding: Calculate and account for funding needs and dividends/distributions
  • Management Accounts: Prepare JV management accounts, coordinating internal data sources
  • Statutory Accounts: Prepare statutory accounts, disclosures, and facilitate stakeholder reviews
  • Forecasting: Assist in preparing operational forecasts for the annual business plan
  • Technical Knowledge: Demonstrate understanding of complex corporate structures and communicate effectively
  • Covenant Reviews: Assess financial covenant strength of clients
  • Transactions: Collaborate on corporate transactions and restructures
  • Ad-hoc Analysis: Support management with business insights and decision-making

About You

  • Degree (2:1 or above) or equivalent qualification
  • Newly qualified Accountant (ICAEW or equivalent) with strong technical skills
  • Experience in top accounting firms
  • Independent problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication with diverse stakeholders
  • Ownership and collaborative working approach
  • Commercial awareness
  • Ability to handle detailed and big-picture tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines
