The British International School Abu Dhabi is seeking to appoint an exceptional Head of Arabic to join our well-established and highly successful school, where we are committed to providing a world-class education for every student.

Closing Date for Applications: 9th August 2026. The start date for this role is October 2026.

The Head of Arabic will inspire both staff and students to achieve their full potential by fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be a compassionate, values-driven leader who champions inclusion, models the highest standards of professionalism, and promotes reflective practice across the department.

The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership for Arabic First Language (Arabic A) and Arabic Second Language (Arabic B) across The British International School Abu Dhabi. They will ensure that all students develop outstanding proficiency, confidence, and pride in the Arabic language.

The Head of Arabic will lead the ongoing development of teaching, learning, curriculum, and assessment, driving standards from Good to Outstanding in line with the school's strategic priorities and the ADEK Inspection Framework.

Working closely with the Head of Islamic Education, National Identity and Social Studies, the successful candidate will champion Arabic language acquisition across the whole school, creating an environment where Arabic is highly visible, valued, and celebrated by the entire school community. They will also strengthen students' use of Arabic across Arabic-medium subjects while promoting a deep appreciation of Emirati culture, heritage, identity, and values.
