This role sits within the Business Applications team, which is responsible for the overall application landscape at BII. Central to the role is the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions, enabling new and innovative capabilities that support and enhance business operations.

The role will be responsible for designing, building, enhancing, and supporting applications across Power Apps, Power Pages, and Dynamics 365, delivering robust, secure, and scalable solutions aligned to business needs. The role combines hands-on development with close collaboration across multiple teams, including IT Architecture, Production, Business Change, and a range of business stakeholders, to ensure solutions are well-designed, supportable, and aligned to wider technology standards. The role will also work closely with and support delivery from offshore delivery resources, providing technical guidance, clear direction, and oversight as required. This includes promoting and enforcing best practice in solution design, development standards, security, and lifecycle management across all Power Platform and Dynamics 365 implementations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical design, development, and support of solutions across Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Pages, and Power Automate, ensuring alignment with business requirements, architectural standards, and best practice.
  • Own the Dynamics 365 and Power Platform backlog, prioritising work, managing delivery, and providing third-line support where required.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure solutions meet business and operational needs.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions, enabling automated build, test, and deployment across environments.
  • Act as an escalation point for application and service issues, driving incidents through investigation to effective resolution.
  • Produce and maintain clear and accurate technical documentation covering solution design, configuration, integrations, and operational support to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing.
  • Assist with task planning and estimation, contributing to clear delivery plans and accurate forecasting.
  • Work closely with offshore delivery resources, providing technical guidance, oversight, and training as required to support effective, high-quality delivery.

The candidate:

Successful candidates will have a background of 6+ years’ experience designing, building, and supporting applications using Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Apps, Power Pages, and Dataverse based solutions in an enterprise environment.

Essential skills:

  • Demonstrate strong experience working with Microsoft Dataverse, including data modelling, security roles, relationships, and solution configuration.
  • Use HTML and CSS to support user interface customisation and styling.
  • Work with Git code repositories in Azure DevOps to support version control and collaborative development.
  • Understand governance, security, and compliance considerations and best practice within enterprise application environments.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a clear customer-service orientation.
  • Work effectively within Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies, including an understanding of Kanban.
  • Use Jira to support task tracking, backlog management, and delivery coordination.
  • Collaborate constructively with colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally through both written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies and innovations across Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform.
  • Demonstrate motivation and alignment with BII’s development mission, including evidence of commitment to development or social goals.
  • Experience working with Azure Data Factory and/or Microsoft Fabric.
  • Familiarity with Azure services commonly used alongside the Power Platform, such as Azure Functions and Logic Apps.
  • Understand how AI-enabled capabilities can be used to enhance Power Apps solution development.
  • Hold relevant Microsoft certifications.
