About the Project
Hogs Haven Golf Club, located in Scotland, is developing a new golf course adjacent to the Home of Golf. The project is in phase 1 grow‑in and phase 2 construction, with the course slated to open for play in Spring 2027.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Equipment Manager, the Mechanic will support all aspects of equipment maintenance throughout construction, grow‑in and long‑term operation of the club’s golf courses and grounds.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe working environment and follow safety guidance from the Equipment Manager.
- Inspect equipment for operating deficiencies and perform repairs and adjustments as needed.
- Operate grinding, sharpening and other maintenance operations to keep cutting units sharp daily.
- Ensure safe and environmentally sound storage, disposal and handling of hazardous materials such as fuel, grease and solvents.
- Maintain service, repair and usage records for all equipment.
- Perform annual general overhauls on equipment under direction of the Equipment Manager.
- Track invoices, inventory, repair data and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Train staff in safe operation, proper care and maintenance of assigned equipment.
- Act as deputy for the Equipment Manager in their absence.
- Maintain strong communication and alignment with the Senior Management Agronomy Team.
Required Experience
- Previous experience in a mechanical role.
- Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems preferred.
- Experience with reel and bed‑knife grinding equipment.
- Welding/fabrication experience preferred.
- Good IT skills.
