Heaton Park Golf Course is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Greenkeeper to lead our dedicated greens team and drive the continued development of our course. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with a proven track record of delivering first‑class playing surfaces and leading a team to achieve consistently high standards throughout the year.
About The Role
As Head Greenkeeper, you will take full responsibility for course presentation, condition, and playability. You will play a key role in shaping the future of the course, leading maintenance strategy, and supporting long‑term improvement and sustainability plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and develop the greenkeeping team to maintain exceptional standards
- Plan and deliver effective maintenance schedules and agronomic programmes
- Operate, maintain, and oversee all machinery and equipment to the highest safety and performance standards
- Work closely with senior management on long‑term course development and improvement projects
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and environmental regulations
- Monitor course conditions and respond proactively to weather and play demands
- Contribute to the continued growth of Heaton Park Golf Course as a welcoming, high‑quality venue
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Senior or Head Greenkeeper
- Demonstrable ability to produce and maintain excellent course conditions
- Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills
- PA1, PA2, and PA6 Spraying Certificates (essential)
- Chainsaw certification and First Aid qualification (desirable)
- A passion for greenkeeping, innovation, and environmental stewardship
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence
