An exciting career opportunity has arisen at Oakmere Golf Club – conveniently located between Mansfield and Nottingham, it’s rated locally as one of the best golf courses in Nottinghamshire. The Commanders course’s new layout was completed in 2017 and the flagship Admirals course was completed in June 2019 in the signature Mackenzie Heathland style. The Captains Course Par 3 opened in May 2022. Oakmere has been The Golf Club of the Year 22/23 voted for by the Central England Prestige Awards and was also the host of the PGA Midland Open for 5 years.
We are looking to expand our team with a dedicated and skilled experienced greenkeeper to play a key role in the continued development and vision of our fantastic club. The successful candidate will report to the Head Greenkeeper and be expected to maintain the golf courses to the highest standard possible with a high standard of attention to detail.
Salary: Circa £28k – depending on experience.
Candidates Will Possess:
- NVQ Level 2 or higher in greenkeeping
- Pa1, Pa2 & Pa6a spraying qualifications (desirable but not essential)
- Chainsaw operating licence (desirable but not essential)
- 2 years or more in greenkeeping experience
Candidates Will Be Required To:
- Have had previous experience in greenkeeping
- Have knowledge in all aspects of course set-up and maintenance
- Have basic knowledge of the game of golf
- Be able to work as part of a team
- Be self‑motivated, enthusiastic and adaptable
- Show strong work ethic and the desire to learn new skills
- Have knowledge in H&S and compliance
- Be punctual and have a flexible approach to working hours including bank holidays and weekends on a rota basis
- Have a full UK driving licence
This position is full time – 40hrs per week plus weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
