The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated, skilled, and ambitious Deputy Course Manager to support the Course Manager in delivering exceptional playing conditions and driving the next phase of course development. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced greenkeeper ready to step up, or an existing deputy seeking a fresh challenge at a progressive, well‐resourced club.

You will play a key role in the day‐to‐day management of the course, help lead and develop the greenkeeping team, and contribute to the planning and delivery of long‐term improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Course Manager in the daily management, maintenance, and presentation of the golf course
  • Assist in leading, motivating, and developing the greenkeeping team

About You

  • Proven experience in greenkeeping, ideally in a supervisory or deputy role
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Sports Turf Management (Level 4 preferred)
  • Strong understanding of turf management, agronomy, irrigation systems, and course/tournament setup
  • Spraying certificates (PA1, PA2, PA6) and chainsaw competency (or willingness to obtain)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • A passion for golf and an understanding of world top player expectations
  • A proactive approach to professional development and emerging greenkeeping technologies, including robotic mowing
  • A flexible, positive attitude and a commitment to delivering high standards year‐round
