Overview

Edgbaston Golf Club continues to strive towards excellence in all areas on the golf course, and achieving a Top 100 ranked Golf Course. All year‑round playability and golf course presentation is central to the Club’s objectives.

The Course Manager is instrumental in achieving these objectives, and the right candidate should be highly motivated, have excellent attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will build on the projects completed to date to focus on playability and presentation of the course.

Required Qualifications and Attributes

  • Minimum 3‑5 years’ experience as a deputy or course manager
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or higher in Greenkeeping & Sports Turf Management
  • Evidence of Active and Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
  • Spraying certification PA1, PA2, and PA6
  • CS30, CS31 Chainsaw certification
  • Strong knowledge of turf management, irrigation systems, agronomy, disease control, and machinery operation
  • Project management and organisational skills
  • Strategic and budgetary planning skills
  • Excellent IT skills and ability to manage key golf course performance indicators
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement Health and Safety processes and legislation
  • Ability to work as part of a team and develop and motivate the team’s individual competencies
