It is an exciting time to join The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. PAHT have been awarded the funding to support the vision for the West Essex Community Diagnostics Centre (CDC) in providing timely access to diagnostics for all of the West Essex population, tackling health inequalities and achieving the 28‑day Faster Diagnosis Standard (FDS) for all potential cancer and non‑cancer patients. Clinical patient pathways will be joined up between primary, community and secondary care by redesigning existing healthcare provision to include elective and non‑elective models of care and extension of opening hours.
The Radiology department at the Princess Alexandra Hospital is actively seeking to recruit a Consultant Radiologist with a sub‑specialty interest in Head and Neck Imaging (any other specialities will be considered). This position will consist of 10 PAs per week, with an additional PA for on‑call commitments. You will support a busy and diverse Imaging service, with a scope to further develop the appointees area of special interest.
Main duties of the job: This is a position required to support the Radiology service at the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) and have an interest in Head and Neck Imaging (any other specialities will be considered), pursuing opportunities to expand the Head and Neck service. You will be based primarily at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, but may be asked to work at any of the other two sites that make up the Trust, St. Margarets in Epping and Herts & Essex in Bishops Stortford. If successful, you will take part in multi‑disciplinary meetings and participate in teaching Radiology registrars.

- Qualifications
- GMC registration with a licence to practice.
- CCT (or equivalent) in relevant specialty or within 6 months of achieving.
- Desirable: Sub‑specialty training aligned with service needs. Higher degree (e.g., MD, PhD) or additional postgraduate qualifications. Formal teaching qualification (e.g., PGCert in Medical Education).
- Experience
- Essential: Broad and relevant clinical experience in the specialty. Experience in teaching and supervising resident doctors and medical students. Participation in clinical audit and quality improvement.
- Desirable: Experience in service development or redesign. Experience in curriculum development or educational leadership. Publications in peer‑reviewed journals, involvement in clinical research or trials. Previous experience working in the NHS or similar healthcare system.
