Equine Instructor vacancy

Our fabulous BHSAI instructor is sadly moving on after 9 years at Sirona due to her expanding freelance teaching and so we are looking for a new equine instructor to join our busy equine-assisted therapy and learning centre, nr Totnes, Devon. MUST hold either BHSAI or ABRS instructor qualification and work with horses in a kind and sensitive manner.

Skills and Experience required:

Extremely competent equine skills and experienced in training horses in a positive reinforcement approach (no gadgets or force used at Sirona)

BHSAI/ABRS qualified instructor/coach

Experience of working with young people and/or disadvantaged groups preferred

Being able to ride ponies distinct advantage

Positive, flexible, ‘can do’ attitude and hard worker

Role involves:

Horse, animal, yard and field care, exercise and training

Supervising and teaching apprentices and volunteers

Supporting on equine-assisted sessions as required

Full-time, part-time or freelance considered. Salary: £22,000- £24,000 pro rata depending on qualifications and experience. Freelance hourly rate open to discussion.
